Clarke® Ultra Speed Pro® 1500 Electric Floor Burnisher Review

As you search for the best floor burnisher to polish your facility’s floors, you will likely realize that there are several different models available.

Each floor burnisher offers a range of different features and benefits, and choosing the best one for your needs can be confusing.

To help you narrow down the options, we shared a list of the best burnishers of 2021 based on the available features, and that list includes the Clarke® Ultra Speed Pro® 1500.

What makes this one of the best floor burnishers?

The Clarke® Ultra Speed Pro® 1500 is a basic burnisher that is dependable and built for daily, heavy-duty use. It is not equipped with advanced features like dust control but it has easy-to-use fingertip controls and multiple safety features making it a good low-cost option for facilities.

Below we will provide an in-depth look at why the Clarke® Ultra Speed Pro® 1500 floor burnisher is one of the best available today.

Clarke® Ultra Speed Pro® 1500

Clarke Ultra Speed Pro 1500Walk-Behind

Manually propelled, this burnisher must be driven and the operator needs to control the pressure on the floor.

Power Source

The burnisher is cord-electric with a 50-foot yellow cord.

Cord-electric burnishers have limitless runtime as long as they are plugged into an outlet. Cord-electric machines are good for relativity small areas.

The Clarke® Ultra Speed Pro® 1500 is powered by a standard 1.5 horsepower (HP) motor, which can be run on a standard outlet. Horsepower is important for delivering the best results to your floor. The higher the horsepower, the more power the buffer will have to rotate the floor pad.

Belt Drive

The Clarke Ultra Speed 1500 uses a belt drive system where the motor sits over the wheels for balance and a belt runs the pad drive assembly.

Pad Speed

The burnisher rotates at 1500 rotations per minute (rpm). Increased pad speeds will reduce the amount of time it takes to evenly burnish floors.

Cleaning Path

Covering 20 inches with each pass, this burnisher has the most common cleaning path size.

Safety Features

Circuit Breaker

To protect the machine motor, it is equipped with a circuit breaker. Circuit breakers pop to avoid surges of energy to the burnisher motor and to avoid tripping wall outlets.

Increased protection of the motor will help preserve the equipment and extend its useful life.

The circuit breaker is conveniently located on the handle for easy reset.

Safety Lock

On the top of the handle, there is a red button that, when pressed in, unlocks the grips that start the motor and spin the pad.

Pro Tip: When the grips are released, the lock automatically engages until the operator pushes the button and grips to restart the motor.

When locked, it does not allow the motor to turn on and spin the floor pad. This protects the operator from accidental injury and protects your floors from damage.

Fingertip Controls

With easy-to-use fingertip controls mounted on the handle, the user can operate the burnisher with little effort.

Additionally, the handle allows the user to burnish in a locked position.

All-Metal Design

This Clarke® floor burnisher is specifically engineered to withstand heavy, daily use in commercial applications. Its all-metal construction, including cast-aluminum chassis, ensures operators can tackle difficult burnishing procedures.

Flexible Pad Driver

To ensure the best results, this machine comes with a flexible pad driver.

When polishing uneven floors, it can be difficult to create an even, consistent shine. But, the flexible pad driver on this burnisher allows the pad to float more freely and easily follow floor contours to produce a better shine.

Typically, the operator would have to repeat burnishing procedures in areas where the floor was uneven, reducing worker productivity and increasing cleaning costs.

Final Thoughts

This high-speed, electric floor burnisher is a great option for smaller facilities that want to maintain a "wet" looking, highly polished floor without making a large investment.

When compared to the other burnishers in our Guide to the 5 Best Floor Burnishers of 2021, the Clarke® Ultra Speed Pro® 1500 is the least expensive burnisher.

Money shouldn't always be the deciding factor when choosing the best floor burnisher for your facility. However, choosing a more expensive burnisher with advanced features like dust control or a larger cleaning path can potentially save you money.
